Dr. Wang received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida and continued his studies at NYU College of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree with honors. Dr. Wang received his postgraduate degree from NYU dental school. There he completed his specialty training in the Department of Periodontics & Implant Dentistry where he was a chief resident.

Dr. Wang dedicated a significant amount of his time to volunteering and outreach programs here in New York City and outside of the US. He volunteered his time and expertise in Ronald Mcdonald House in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, in Elmhurst Medical Center in the Department of Dentistry.

Twice he visited Nicaragua, once as a dental student volunteer and once as a dental researcher with Global Outreach programs.

Dr. Wang was an honorary member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU).

As mentioned above, all dental specialists require an additional 2 to 3 years of training following general dentist degree. To become a Board Certified Periodontology means that a periodontist must pass the additional certification, that is held once a year in the form of written and oral exam along with a detailed report covering periodontics and implant dentistry. As described by American Academy of Periodontology, “who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty, including demonstrating a comprehensive mastery of all phases of periodontal disease and treatment and in the placement of dental implants” receives board certification. Like anyone who “loooves” any kind of dental work, I went to my first appointment for what would be multiple visits and procedures.
