Ji Yoo Lee, MHS, DDS
Dr. Ji Yoo Lee is a dedicated and compassionate general dentist. With a deep commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing education, Dr. Lee strives to provide comprehensive and comfortable dental care to patients of all backgrounds.
I was panicking, my front teeth gone and the doctor Lee did everything possible to make sure I was ok, I was bit disappointed with time waiting for the temporary teeth and even in this case she made the impossible to the possible, she is not only a doctor she is a wonderful person. I felt she was feeling my pain and when I left the clinic I felt calm, happy and the most important thing? That I could trust her. Thank you Doctor Lee.
Education
Once an aspiring scientist, Dr. Lee began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, followed by a Master of Health Science in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During this time, she was fortunate to collaborate with several researchers and contributed to multiple research studies, co-authoring seven publications early in her career.
Motivated by a desire to apply her scientific knowledge in a more direct, patient-focused setting, she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Her passion for research continued throughout dental school, earning the Colgate Research Award from the American Association for Women Dentists and graduating with student research honors. Her research was also presented at both national and local scientific meetings.
Professional background and achievements
Following dental school, Dr. Lee completed a General Practice Residency at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital in New York, where she served as Chief Resident. During her residency, she gained a deeper understanding of the challenges underserved populations face in accessing dental care, which further strengthened her commitment to delivering compassionate, equitable treatment.
Currently, in addition, to her position as a general dentist at 209 NYC Dental, Dr. Lee serves as an Attending Dentist at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital, where she works with dental residents in both the outpatient clinic and operating room. In close collaboration with the anesthesia and oral surgery teams, she also provides comprehensive dental care under general anesthesia for patients with special needs.

Clinical expertise
Dr. Lee provides comprehensive dental care with a strong clinical focus on oral diagnosis and treatment planning, restorative dentistry, and prosthodontics including crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported prostheses.
In her free time, she enjoys both indoor and outdoor activities like reading and hiking. She also likes watching basketball (she played as a shooting guard on her high school team).
