A lot happens outside of the dental operatories – calls need to be answered, patients to be scheduled, insurance verified, dental claims to be paid, and the list goes on. These are our unseen heroes that most of the patients do not know. However, having a talented auxiliary staff is what makes or breaks the office success. 209 NYC Dental is proud to have such an eclectic and skilled team of administrative personnel.

Lena L.

Director of Operations Lena was born in Belarus. She excelled academically and was number one in her class. Lena went to Linguistic University where she majored in linguistics. Inspired by Woody Allen’s “Manhattan” she fell in love with New York City and felt inspired to move. While attending New School University she landed a job as a dental floater at 209 NYC Dental. Even after getting her Graphic Design degree Lena decided to stay in 209 NYC Dental. The office became her family. Almost overnight Lena went from a dental assistant to our office manager, to our director of operations. Due to her efforts, our office went from paper office to paperless. Lena constantly works on improving patient experience and customer service. Whether it is raising her beautiful daughter or dealing with staff and patients, Lena blends incredible insight with unique sensitivity.

Renee K.

Human Resource Manager Renee was raised in Little Neck Queens. She attended Cardozo High school and then went on to Queens College. Renee majored in Communication. After a stint in corporate America, she met her husband Jack. This was her introduction to dentistry. Together they raised three wonderful children, all of whom are in the healthcare field. Renee is one of our athletes. She loves Pilates, tennis and bike riding. Renee is a people person who has the knack of setting people at ease in hyper anxious moments. In our community of nice people, she is one of the nicest. Marsha and Renee work together as a formidable team to keep the internal structure of the practice running smoothly. They are always available to have personal, private conversations with our patients to navigate them through their dental experience.

Zarema A.

Manager Zarema was born and raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She has a major in International Law. Being a creative soul she was inspired to try various professional paths. After a promising career in marketing and brand management, she moved to New York in 2007 to study English and Visual Arts. This is when she got exposed to dentistry. She started her dental career as a dental assistant. Closely working with patients and dentists providing four-handed dentistry she learned all clinical aspects of dentistry. With her knowledge of dentistry & her desire to help patients, Zarema is one of the best in her field. Her main interest outside of our office is in film and photography. Zarema has chosen a vegan lifestyle. She is an advocate for healthy nutrition and deeply committed to the prevention of cruelty to animals, and green lifestyle.

Anela C.

Dental Receptionist Anela was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. She came to the United States from war torn Sarajevo in 1996. Anela picked the dental field as a career because of her traumatic experience with multiple teeth extraction in her former country. That scary experience made her want to face the dental field in a different light. As an adult she wanted to eliminate fear and hyper-anxious moments for her patients visiting our dental practice. Professionally, Anela sees the dental field as very challenging and rewarding at the same time. She feels that it is a great feeling to see happy patients walking out of the dental office with a beautiful smile and with healthy teeth. She feels that proper culture in the work environment is paramount to delivering proper patient care.
